Laat-Februarie 1922 (“Late-February 1922”) is a play by Johan Kapp

The original text

Written in 1979 about the white miner's strike on the Witwatersrand in 1922, it is described as "'n Drama in drie dele met twee tussenspele wat later plaasvind ("a drama in three parts with two interludes that take place later").

(This was also the theme of the 1937 play Red Rand by Lewis Sowden.)

The play was first performed in 1983 and text published in the collection Rostrum: verhoogtekste by Tafelberg in 1985.

1983: Directed by Johann van Heerden for CAPAB in the Nico Malan Theatre in November with Antoinette Kellermann (Ma), Neels Coetzee (Pa), Marthinus Basson (1ste en 4de Regters/ Kaptein Boschoff), Lynita Crofford (Verdediging/Anna/Maria Moolman), Libby Daniels (Trudie), André Roothman (Johannes de Lange/Sersant Porgieter), Kobus Jooste (Aanklaer/Polisieman/'n Man), Chris Baatjies (2de Regter), Melanie van Bemmel (3de Regter/Laksman), Sandra Temmingh (Jong Vrou/Petronella), Dawid Minnaar (Niklaas). Decor and costumes by Jenny Gillis, lighting by Skip Wright, music by Roelof Temmingh.
