The original text
Written in 1979 about the white miner's strike on the Witwatersrand in 1922.
(This was also the theme of the 1937 play Red Rand by Lewis Sowden.)
The play was first performed in 1983 and text published in the collection Rostrum: verhoogtekste by Tafelberg in 1985.
