Performance history in South Africa

An Oude Libertas commissioned work, it was first produced by SWAPAC in co-operation with NAPAC and CAPAB in Windhoek in 1976, as part of SWAPAC's 10th anniversary celebrations. Directed by André P. Brink, with Mees Xteen (Koot), [[Johan Botha (Buks), Antoinette Kellermann (Fransien), Lida Botha (Breggie), Kobus Strydom (Ewert). Decor designed by Richard Cook, costumes designed by Alta Brink. This production toured widely in Natal and the Northern Cape.

CAPAB presented the play in 1978 under the direction of Jan Prinsloo. Decor by Richard Cooke, costumes by Jennifer Gillis, lighting by Emile Aucamp. It opened at the H.B. Thom Theatre on 31 August 1978, and at the Nico Malan Theatre on 3 October 1978. The cast were Neels Coetzee (Buks), Trudi du Plessis (Fransien), Mees Xteen (Koot), Neville Thomas (Ewert) and Sandra Ferreira (Breggie). Skip Wright was the stage manager.

PACOFS 1986, directed by Schalk Jacobsz, starring Marko van der Colff and Anita de Jager.

Universiteitsteater Stellenbosch, 1986. Directed by Noël Roos, starring Neels Engelbrecht, Jozua van der Lugt, Illse Roos, Linda Pienaar, Reenen Furter, decor Herman Pretorius, lighting Emile Aucamp; Performed in the H.B. Thom Theatre.

PACT 1989, directed by Ilse van Hemert with Henriëtta Gryffenberg, Pieter Brand, Gys de Villiers, Alida Theron, André Odendaal, in the State Theatre Arena. Designs by James MacNamara.
