Training
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She acted in The Critic (1954) and in Christopher Fry’s The Lady's not for Burning which was presented by the Arena Theatre Company and staged at the Johannesburg YMCA in 1956, also starring Robert Lang and Will Jamieson. She starred in The Company of Three’s production of the hard-hitting American drama, A Hatful of Rain, which was directed by Stuart Brown and staged at the Library Theatre in 1957. A Moon for the Misbegotten (NTO, 1960)
She played the lead in Kushlick-Gluckman’s revival of Clare Boothe’s The Women at the Intimate Theatre in 1961. She starred in Trap for a Lonely Man which James Gillhouley directed for the the Johannesburg Reps at the Alexander Theatre in 1966. She starred in the Johannesburg Reps production of Seidman and Son together with David Kossoff and Simon Kossoff at the Alexander Theatre in 1967.
She starred in Noël Coward’s Present Laughter, directed by Charles Hickman as the final production for Johannesburg Reps in 1969.
Other productions include The Fall, The Killing of Sister George, Roar Like a Dove, The Critic, Come Blow Your Horn, A Hatful of Rain, The Lady's not for Burning, A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Moon for the Misbegotten, Androcles and the Lion, Big Night for Shylock.
In 1974 she acted in Whites, a short film directed by Terence Hammond and also featuring Bill Flynn and Japhta Mphokana.
