The Killing of Sister George is a play by British playwright Frank Marcus (30 June 1928 – 5 August 1996) [1]. His plays were noted for their strong parts for female actors.

Performance history in South Africa

1966: A production in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban in 1966 by the Brian Brooke Company starred Valerie Miller and Leonne Carnot, with Jenny Gratus and Cynthia Klette. It was directed by Taubie Kushlick.

1979: The play was also produced by Colin Law in 1979. Performed in The Studio, Baxter Theatre, it was directed by Kenneth Hendel, starring Valerie Dunlop, Diana Cox, Moira Winslow, Marjorie Gordon.
