James Gillhouley (19**-). English director and playwright.

British productions include Jack and the Beanstalk (The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, 1959), Safer in Bed (The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, 1960), The Gentleman Dancing Master (Pembroke Theatre Croydon Company, (1961), Merchant of Venice (Company of Three Productions, 1982) Same man – or a son? Wrote a play called Party Games (produced 1981 by Company of Three Productions)].

He visited South Africa in 1965-1966 under the auspices of the the Johannesburg Reps to direct Pickwick (1965), Trap for a Lonely Man (1966) and Somerset Maugham’s The Constant Wife (1966) at the Alexander Theatre.
