An Oude Libertas commissioned work, it was first produced by SWAPAC in co-operation with NAPAC and CAPAB in Windhoek in 1976, as part of SWAPAC's 10th anniversary celebrations. Directed by André P. Brink, with Mees Xteen (Koot), Johan Botha (Buks), Antoinette Kellermann (Fransien), Lida Botha (Breggie), Kobus Strydom (Ewert). Decor designed by Richard Cook, costumes designed by Alta Brink. Stage manager Dawie Malan. This production toured widely in Natal and the Northern Cape.
CAPAB presented the play in 1978 under the direction of Jan Prinsloo. Decor by Richard Cooke, costumes by Jennifer Gillis, lighting by Emile Aucamp. It opened at the H.B. Thom Theatre on 31 August 1978, and at the Nico Malan Theatre on 3 October 1978. The cast were Neels Coetzee (Buks), Trudi du Plessis (Fransien), Mees Xteen (Koot), Neville Thomas (Ewert) and Sandra Ferreira (Breggie). Skip Wright was the stage manager.
