Dawid Minnaar (1956-) is a bilingual (Afrikaans/English) actor for stage, radio, TV and film.

Biography

Born in Upington in the Northern Cape, the youngest of 5 children, and grew up on the family farm Rooidam, Namibia and went to primary school in Bethanie.

He completed a B.A at the University of Stellenbosch, Department of Drama, and a B.A. Honours degree in Drama at the University of Cape Town.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Primarily known as a fine and versatile actor, his stage career started in the 1980s and by the 1990s he was one of the leading bilingual performers in the country.

Awards, etc

Dawid won Vita Awards as best actor for Diepe Grond, Kafka Dances and Nag, Generaal, and best supporting actor for Scenes from an Execution and Ek, Anna van Wyk. Judged best actor at Aardklop for macbeth.slapeloos in 2013.
