The 13 Clocks is a fairy tale written in 1950 by American cartoonist, author, journalist, and celebrated wit James Thurber (1894-1961) [1], adapted as a play by Frank Lowe.

Performance history in South Africa

1972: Produced at The Space (Cape Town) in 1972, directed by Yvonne Bryceland with Limpie Basson, Bee Berman, Val Donald, Jack Klaff, Lianda Martin and Jacqui Singer. Design by Margaret Hillhorst, choreography by John McKenzie, lighting by Alastair Johnstone and stage management by Donald Fuller.

1984: Directed by Bill Curry for the Handspring Puppet Company in the Baxter Studio in 1984, starring Adrian Kohler, Basil Jones, Toni Morkel, Odette Leat. Music by Vukani, lyrics by Gus Ferguson.
