T. H. Smith

Sergeant-Major T. H. Smith was a non-commissioned officer in the North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot's band when the Regiment was sent to the Eastern Frontier of the Cape Colony (now the Eastern Province, South Africa) between 1860 and 1862 shortly after the Xhosa cattle-killing movement and famine (1857-1858). The regiment was based in Grahamstown and Keiskama Hoek. (Modern spelling: Keiskammahoek.)

Sergeant-Major T. H. Smith, who was a member of the Dramatic Club, performed 13 times during his stay in the Eastern Frontier. Once with the Dramatic Club, nine times with the Sergeants of the Regiment and three times with the Officers of the Regiment. All his roles were male.
