A compilation and stage adaptation in eighteen scenes, based on a series of novellas by Mikro (1903–1968), depicting the lives of the people of the town Soetwater. (These include: )

Originally performed in 1964, the text published as Soetwater: Bruidjie Dit en Bruidjie Dot in 1967 by the DALRO (the Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation).

Performance history in South Africa

1964: Presented by PACT in the National Theatre, Pretoria, the Intimate Theatre, Johannesburg and the Little Theatre, Springs in 1964. Cobus Rossouw was the director and the cast were Kita Redelinghuys, Elsa Fouché, Leonora Nel, Anna Cloete, Cobus Rossouw, Sann de Lange, Japie van Niekerk, Wena Naudé, Mathilde Hanekom, Hennie Pretorius, Ciska Marais, Floris Mostert and James Norval, with Louis van Niekerk making his debut on the stage. Decor designed by Limpie Basson.
