Brent Palmer (19*-). Comedian, voice artist, actor, facilitator, MC and playwright.

Biography

Grassy Park born and bred, he studied in London where he did Theatre Studies: (L.C.T.S) London (1999), a B.A. English/Psychology (U.W.C) (1992-1995) and PGCE: Drama and English (U.C.T) (2003).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As an actor, he has been in a number of theatre projects at the Baxter Theatre, Artscape, Maynardville and the Little Theatre including; King Lear, Hamlet, Macbeth, Women Beware Women, False Witness. He has also done his own plays, such as Corner Hope and Vrede, (Intimate Theatre, 2002), Witnesses (Artscape, 2005), , Journey to the light (Out of the Box Festival, 2007), History of Cape Town - Abridged (Theatre in the District, 2008), Bench (Kalk Bay Theatre, 2012). Since returning to South Africa after four years abroad Brent has worked in film and appeared in, amongst others; The Triangle, Flood, Dissonances, Forever Lost, Mercenary for Justice and Natalee Holloway. He has also been involved, His television credits range from Interrogation Room, Madam and Eve to Charlie Jade. He has also taught widely and worked as a facilitator in the corporate sector for a collective period of four years. Brent has also enjoyed much success as a stand up comedian and has played venues like the BMW Pavillion, On Broadway and Barans Theatre Restaurant and clubs like Albert Hall and Zula. Apart from his theatre, film and stand up comedy performances he has also directed Comedian of the Year (2008) Nik Rabinowitz in five shows; including In the Nik and Anyone seen my Goat.
