Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Ash Searle is one of South Africa’s unique talents – technically-trained in both dancing and acting. His focus is on entertainment that is vibrant and comedic but always of a world-class standard. Ash has performed all over the world in musical productions such as Chicago, African Footprint, The Buddy Holly Story, We Will Rock You and Fame to mention a few. South Africa also voted Ash into the top three of the television series So You Think You Can Dance?
Together with his wife, Vanessa Harris, they founded the theatre production company, Follow Spot Productions in 2008, and took over the management of the Kalk Bay Theatre in 2014. Performances include Love @ First Fight (2009), Big Boys Don't Dance (2010).
In 2025, Searle teaches musical theatre performance at LAMTA.
