'n Ander Tongval

'n Ander Tongval is the title of an autobiographical novel by Antjie Krog, as well as that of a play based on it - adapted for the stage by Saartjie Botha.

The novel

An Afrikaans version of her English work, A Change of Tongue (2003), 'n Ander Tongval (2005) is an award-winning autobiographical novel by author and poet Antjie Krog. The book interweaves personal memories with social history to examine the sweeping changes in the country and her own life.

South African Performances

2007: 'n Ander Tongval produced by Vleis, Rys en Aartappels and performed at the ABSA KKNK festival in Oudtshoorn, 31 March to 3 April. Designed and directed by Jaco Bouwer, with music composed by Braam du Toit. The cast: Antoinette Kellerman, Nina Swart, Mpho Masilela, Khwesi Davani, Ntobeko Rwanqa Sibusiso Matshikiza and Given Nkosi. Lighting design Albert Snyman, stage management Wolf Britz and Jansie Potgieter, repetiteur Albert Combrink.
