Wolfie Britz (also known later as Wolf Britz) (19*-) is a stage and film director, set and lighting designer and stage manager.

Biography

He holds both a BA and postgraduate degree in Drama and Theatre Studies as well as a BSc degree in Human Life Sciences from the University of Stellenbosch, where he was employed as an assistant theatre manager for the H.B. Thom Theatre for while and, until 2016, as a lecturer of design.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

Shows done include assistant director of Die Generaal and Pous Johanna II, director of Audrey (Vleis, Rys en Aartappels, 2008), Jean Genet's Diensmeisies (2008), Oorsee (Aardklop 2013);

He did the lighting for Die Seemeeu and Wie's Bang vir Virginia Woolf? (2015).

Other highlights include a Fiësta nomination for the set and lighting design of Statements After An Arrest Under The Immorality Act, as well as designs for other productions seen on The Fugard Theatre stage. These include both set and lighting design for Significant Other, and lighting design for Shakespeare in Love - securing a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award nomination for Best Lighting Design in 2018, and the set and lighting design for "Master Harold"...and the Boys (2020).

Nominated Rosalie Van Der Gucht Award for new directors for Audrey.
