Biography

Training

Completed her BA and Performer's Diploma in Speech and Drama in 1993 at the University of Cape Town, majoring in English and Drama. Performed in various production at drama school.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Did the schools' tours with CAPAB, including King Lear, The Great Gatsby, Twelfth Night, To Kill a Mockingbird and Prose and Poetry. Appeared in Mud in your Eye, Mac at the Long Street Theatre, Tick Tick Bang in Grahamstown. Was seen in 'Tis Pity She's a Whore as Philotes and in La Bête for CAPAB drama.

She appeared as Lady Macduff in Macbeth in 1996 and in Drie Susters Twee.

Karin also performed in Cabaret (1995), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1995), Please Hold, I'm Coming (1996), The Winter's Tale (1997), Scribble (1998), The Table (as Ruth, 2011).

In 2004 Karin played "Tant Sannie" in the film version of The Story of an African Farm.

She starred in the television series Isidingo as Maggie.
