The H.M.S. Megaera visited Cape Town in 1859 and the amateurs of the "Royal Naval Theatre" of the vessel performed in Cape Town on 28 March, presenting Fish out of Water (Lunn), a scene with Captain Nightingale "in character as Macbeth", Make your Wills () and The Thumping Legacy ().
