Many of his plays were performed in South Africa over the years, including Pygmalion , Mrs Warren's Profession, Candida, Saint Joan, Caesar and Cleopatra , Heartbreak House, Androcles and the Lion, Major Barbara, The Dark Lady of the Sonnets, Passion, Poison, and Petrifaction, and Misalliance. Of course My Fair Lady, based on Pygmalion, has been a great favourite over the years.
In 1971 Max Adrian presented a one-man show of readings from Shaw at the Alexander.
