Training

He studied at the University of Cape Town before his training at the Central School of Drama in London 1946-8. While in London he appeared in a number of plays at the New Theatre, including The Taming of the Shrew 1947 – 1948; Richard II 1947 – 1948; King Lear (bit part for the Old Vic Co.) 24th September 1946 –1947 and Cyrano de Bergerac 1946 – 1947.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and performance

He worked for the National Theatre Organisation in the 1950s, and later for CAPAB and The Space (in the 1970s).


As actor

Die Vonkel in haar oë! - 'n Spel van my kontrei (Gerhard J. Beukes, 1960), Ek Kenne Mansmens (Anna M. Louw).* In the 1970s he acted in Fallen Angels, My Broer and Occupations at The Space.

Performed in Antigone, The Man of Destiny, Episode on an Autumn Evening, Swan Song and Three Cheers for President Charlie for CAPAB and The Space the Space Theatre.
