Het Dansende Ezeltje is a full-length Dutch children's play by Erik Vos (1929-)[1]
(The title written in lower script as Het dansende ezeltje in Dutch publications).

The original text
Described as a "toneelspel met liedjes voor kinderen", the play was Vos's first dramatic work and is apparently a full-length adaptation of a one-act play by Léon Chancerel (1886 1965)[2]
Written in the style of the Italian commedia dell'arte, which Chancerel championed, it tells of a donkey is stolen by two scoundrels, who disguise themselves afterwards in order to sell the stolen donkey back to its original owner.
