Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student at the University of Cape Town Drama Department he performed in Little Malcolm and his Struggle against the Eunuchs in 1967.

He was involved in workshopping Orestes with Athol Fugard and Yvonne Bryceland for the CAPAB Laboratory. Then worked for The Space on People are Living There, Bar and Ger, Dimetos, The Glass Menagerie, Medea and Occupations. **

Plays include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (CAPAB 1969), Tango (1970), Hadrian the Seventh (1971), Romeo and Juliet (1972), Marat/Sade aka The Persecution of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade (1976), People are Living There (1977), Absurd Person Singular( 1977), Luv (1977), El Grande de Coca Cola for PACT in 1979, Lone Star and Pvt. Wars (1982), The Rivals (1983), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1983), Still Life (1983), Torch Song Trilogy (1984), Glengarry Glen Ross (1985), True West at the Market Theatre in 1985.

Awards, etc

Won the Three Leaf Award for Best Actor in 1967 (first time awarded to a student) and 1975.

Artes 1996 (television) Onder Engele [best supporting actor in a drama] and he was nominated for his role in Torings.
