My Son Diana is a farce in one act by A. Harris (1825-1873)[1].

First performed at the Haymarket, London , on 25th May, 1857 and at the Arch Street Theatre, Philadelphia in 1857. Published in Boston by W.V. Spencer, [1857] as no CXXXIII of Spencer's Boston Theatre.

Performance history in South Africa

1860: Performed as My "Son" Diana by Charles Fraser and his company in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, on 22 February, with Annie Rowlands as the "son". Also performed was the "screamer" (i.e. extravaganza) Caught by the Ears (Selby), and a selection of musical numbers.

1860: Performed as My Son Diana on the Eastern Cape border on 29 October by the Sergeants of the Regiment (North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot) as afterpiece to Macbeth (Shakespeare). The cast of the farce consisted of Sergeant J. Lydon, (Mr Caraway Culpepper), Sergeant-major T. H. Smith (Mr Septimus Smith), Sergeant F. Edwards (John, a servant), Lance Corporal J. Davies (Diana, Culpepper's daughter), Corporal G. Brown (Louisa, Culpepper's niece).
