Translations and adaptations

Translated into German as Don Gil von den Grünen Hosen by Knut Boeser [2].

The Boeser translation was adapted and translated into Afrikaans as Don Dinges met die Groen Broek by Nerina Ferreira.

Performance history in South Africa

1984: Performed in Afrikaans as Don Dinges met die Groen Broekby PACT in the State Theatre Pretoria and in the Alexander Theatre, Johennesburg; directed by Dieter Reible, featuring Alida Theron (Dona Juana), Marie Pentz (Estella), Chris van Niekerk (Caramanchel), James Borthwick (Don Martin), Gys de Villiers (Osorio), Louis van Niekerk (Don Pedro), Tjaart Potgieter (Aguilar), Karin Fourie (Dona Ines), Pieter Brand (Don Juan), Louis Minnaar (Don Alfonso), Billy Second (Dona Klara) and others. Design by Chris van der Berg and lighting by Derek Markotter.
