Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She did the sets for Taubie Kushlick’s 1956 Christmans show, Listen to the Wind, starring Joyce Grant, Elizabeth Meyer, Brian Proudfoot, June Hern, Maureen Adair and Philip Birkinshaw, and staged at the Library Theatre. Together with Heather MacDonald Rouse she did the costumes and set for Sandy Wilson’s The Boy Friend which was staged at the Brooke Theatre in May 1957. It starred Shirley Hepburn, June Hern, Ivan Berold, Maureen Adair and Bruce Anderson and Gertrude Walsh played the piano and also conducted. She designed the settings and costumes for The Aspern Papers (1960). She designed the sets forKushlick-Gluckman’s production of Robert Bolt’s A Man for all Seasons, directed by Margaret Webster which was staged at the Civic Theatre in 1962. It starred Stuart Brown, Philip Birkinshaw, William Roderick, Hugh Rouse and Yossi Graber.

She also worked on productions of Two for the Seesaw, The Miracle Worker, The Tenth Man, Othello, The Caretaker, Charley's Aunt, Rashomon, Richard II, Teahouse of the August Moon, The Best Man, Moumou, Champagne Complex, Lady Barker's Last Appearance, A Shot in the Dark, The Moon is Blue, Rookery Nook, The Corn is Green, Beyond the Fringe, The Big Knife, Something New and The Lower Depths. Several of these productions were by the Cockpit Players at the Hofmeyr Theatre.
