Meester The stage play (1927)
Meester is an Afrikaans stage play in four acts by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969).
The original play
A play set on a farm near Mossel Bay in the 18th century and tells about the lonelineness and romantic life of a travelling Dutch teacher with unconventional philosophical and religious ideas. First published Nasionale Pers, 1927.
Productions
1929: Produced by the GUK Dramatic Society, Bloemfontein, directed by D.F. Malherbe, with himself Benedictus Kok and Bram Fischer in the cast.

Meester The TV series (1992)
Meester is a TV series in 10 episodes of 60min. each, written by Paul C. Venter. Directed by Annie Basson, with Hannes Müller, Susan Coetzer, Eric Nobbs, Danny Keogh, Tess van Staden, Lida Botha, Johan Botha, Elize Cawood, Wilson Dunster, Nico Liebenberg, Neil Sandilands, Rochelle Spies and Gilbert Terblanché. Broadcast in 1992, it won the SABC prize for TV dramas.
