EBRAHIM, Vinette (1957- ) is a South African actress.


Biography

She is married to Ivan D. Lucas and her brother is Vincent Ebrahim (1951-). One of her daughters is the television actress and radio personality Kim Cloete.

Her career started in 1974 at the Space Theatre, where she was trained by Yvonne Bryceland and others.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Vinette is best known for her starring role as "Charmaine Meintjies" (née Beukes) on the SABC2 soap opera Sewende Laan (7de Laan), since 2000.

On stage she has appeared in Buckingham Palace, District Six, Fiela se Kind, Kinkels innie Kabel, Violations, Horiesô, Madiba, Ubu Roi (1987), The Winter's Tale (CAPAB 1997), Boesman en Lena (2005), Miss Africa South (Suidooster-fees, 2009, directed by Lizz Meiring), Vaselinetjie (Suidoosterfees (2011, directed by Henry Mylne), My Naam is Ellen Plakkies (2011),

As a director she was responsible for Josef en die Mevrou in 1997.
