He wrote the comedy The Chess Mistress, produced in 1978 in the Hofmeyr Theatre. He co-wrote the stage version of The Horse-Thief with Willem Steenkamp, first performed 1986. His play A Hole in the Sky was produced at the Masque Theatre, date unknown.

Winner of the 1820 Settlers Prize for Outstanding Journalism, 1980.
