The original text

Based on Willem Steenkamp's award-winning novel The Horse Thief, first published by Tafelberg in 1985, the play is about justice and retribution set in the starkness of Namaqualand. Adaptation for the stage by the author and Tony Robinson

Performance history in South Africa

1986: The South African première was presented by CAPAB in the Nico Malan Theatre opening 6 November, followed by a performance in the H.B. Thom Theatre on 27 November. Directed by Esther van Ryswyk, with Jannie Gildenhuys, Ivan Abrahams, Wayne Bowman and André Roothman. Designed by Peter Krummeck. Lighting by Malcolm Hurrell.
