Frank Opperman (born 1960) is a stage, film and TV actor and musician.

Biography

He was married to the actress Susan Coetzer. They have one son, Frankie. Frank has remarried and the couple have a daughter.


Youth

Training

He studied drama at the Pretoria Technikon in the early 1980s.

Career

He joined PACT Drama circa 1985.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Directed and designed Lunchtime Concert (Student drama 1983).

Bloeiende Lente (PACT 1985); Faan se Stasie (PACT 1985); "Damis" in Die Huigelaar PACT (1986); Die Ketter (PACT 1986).


Chris Vorster’s Gehang (KKNK, 2005),

Did voice of "Raymond Sintès" for video used in The Outsider (Camus/Triffard, 1997/8).

Briewe aan 'n Rooi Dak (producer for KykNet channel, 2005), Partners (KKNK 2013), Rooikaart (Woordfees 2011), RooiKôppitjie (Spier 2001), Talk Radio (1998), Die klaagliedere van ds. Tienie Benadé, Die Uwe, Pottie Potgieter and its sequel Wyk 14, Sing jy van Bomme (Woordfees 2017).

Films: Boetie Gaan Border Toe! (film 1984), he had a role in the 2004 film Gums & Noses (film).
