Briewe aan 'n Rooi Dak
("Letters to a Red Roof"). A 2001 one-woman play written by Harry Kalmer. Winner of the Anglo Gold Smeltkroes Prize.
Mathilda Otto (73) is alone and has nobody to speak to and therefore she writes letters to the only thing she can see outside her bedroom window, the red roof of the next door neighbour's house. It becomes an ode to her life in Johannesburg.
