The South African Collector is a play written by Dennis Schauffer inspired by the '60s novel The Collector by John Fowles. The play explores the psychological make-up of an abductor.

Performance history in South Africa

The play was performed in the Sanlam Loft at the Natal Playhouse from 26 September to 18 October 1998 starring Patrick Collyer as the abductor and Jayloshini Naidoo as his hostage.
