Sue Parker (194*-). Performer.

Biography

She graduated from the Rhodes University Drama Department in 1968. She is married to Henry Goodman whom she met while studying Expressive Dance with Sigurd Leeder in Switzerland. Returning to South Africa, she ran the movement department at Cape Town University Drama Department for five years. In 1978 she was a founder member of the Contemporary Dance Company which she managed until 1982.

She moved to London with her husband and son where she eventually started the organisation, Step Into Dance, an open access dance initiative for young people in London.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student she had roles in Cape Charade or Kaatje Kekkelbek, Our Town, Take Root or Die.

She performed in Animal Fair (The Space in 1972), Dance Is (Outer Space at The Space, 1975).

In 1979 she was part of the team who produced Call Me Woman.
