Translated from the French into Afrikaans by Nerina Ferreira entitled Tweede Viool.

Performance history in South Africa

1964: A free adapatation of Nerina Ferreira’s translation was presented in a double bill entitled 2+2=5 with Die Kaalkop Primadonna by KRUIK in 1964 under the direction of Limpie Basson, starring Cynthia Dekker (Celie), Pieter Bredenkamp (Uncle George), Marie Pentz (Auntie Baby), Jannie Gildenhuys (Herklaas), Wilma Stockenström (Dolly), Peter Grobbelaar (Cousin Josie) and Ernst Eloff (Michael). Lighting by Emile Aucamp, decor built by A. Samsodien.
