Make Your Wills! is a farce in one act by Henry Mayhew (1812–1887)[1] and G. Smith (fl.1830-1840)[].

The original text

First performed the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in London on 14 July 1836 and published the same year by John Cumberland (Vol. xxxv) and Lacy (Vol. lix), also later as Issue 124 of French's minor drama.

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

1842: Performed in the Garrison Theatre, Cape Town by the Garrison Players on 9 June, and repeated 15 June. Accompanied by Love, Law and Physic (Kenney) and Love in Humble Life (Payne). Performers included D. M'Donald, Mr Wellesley and Mr Priestly.

1859: Performed in Simon's Town by the amateurs of "the Royal Naval Theatre of the H.M.S. Megaera" in the Simon's Town Theatre on 28 March, along with a scene from Macbeth (performed "in character" by Captain Nightingale), Fish out of Water (Lunn) and The Thumping Legacy (Morton)
