Hardland

Hardland is a bilingual (Afrikaans and English) play by Harry Kalmer (1956-2019).

Also found as Hard Land.

Not to be confused with the Afrikaans TV series Hartland (lit. "heart land") by Deon Opperman

The original text

The copy of a typed performance text, with handwritten notes and titled Hard Land (no author mentioned), is held in the archives of the Drama Department at Stellenbosch University.

In reviews and biographical articles on Kalmer, the text is sometimes wroingly referred to as Hartland.

1986: Performed in the Baxter Studio as a Selfhelp Production, directed by Marcel van Heerden with Robin Smith, Marie Human, Gretha Brazelle.
