Robin Smith (1955-). Actor.

Biography

Born Robin Beauclerk Smith 28 February 1955.

A one time professional wrestler and manager, he worked for The Space in the 1970s, before becoming a freelance actor.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

For The Space he performed in Don't Drink the Water, Going to Pot, Hello Out There, Macrune’s Guevara, Magic Afternoon, Picnic on the Battlefield, The Sun King, Tsafendas, Yesterday's News and You’ll Come (chuckle) to Love Your ????? (snigger) Test.

Other productions include Cincinatti – Scenes from City Life (at the Market Theatre, 1979), For Love or Money (for A.T. Productions), A Life (for Toerin/Firth), The School for Scandal (with PACT), Cold Stone Jug (at the Baxter Theatre), Panorama (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1988), Two Fold.

He appeared as Edward/Psychiatrist/Guard/Citizen/Messenger in Hellhound (an adaptation of Richard III).

He has appeared in films such as Bopha! (1994), Fools, Ordinary People, The Fall (2006) Running Riot (2006), Invictus (2009) and The Kissing Booth (2018)..

Nominated for best performance by an actor in a supporting role; Vita Award, Transvaal, Award year 1993 for Hellhound.
