Don Lamprecht (1943-2009) was an actor and voice artist.

Biography
Studied at the University of Pretoria Drama Department, then joined the PACT company and became an accomplished part of the Afrikaans ensemble.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
His early roles for PACT included "Hodge the Wizard" in Beauty and the Beast (1967), "Professor Poffel" in Professor Poffel en Professor Moffel (1968), various characters in Jack and the Turtle Doves (1968), "Ou Gopse" in Die Koopman van Venesië (1969), "Jan Potgieter" in Schlengemann’s Die Drie Van Der Walts (1969), "Voinof" in Die Terroriste (1969), "Benjamin" in Pase (1969), Die Nag van Legio (1969/1970), "Claassens" in "Koelighin" in Drie Susters (1970), various roles in Ampie (1970), "Edmund Tyrone" in Lang Dagreis na die Nag (1970), Hotel Paradiso (1971) and ‘Tjokkie” the seër in Siener in die Suburbs (1971) - possibly his most famous role.
Other productions over the years would include: 'n Seder val in Waterkloof, Anastasia, Bobaas van die Boendoe, Christine, Ebenezer Pennieknyper, Die Eend, Germanicus, Die Hamer van die Hekse, Die Keiser, Maria Stuart, Die Nag van Legio, Pavane, Plaston: DNS-Kind, Putsonderwater, After the Fall, Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey, Beauty and the Beast, Die Dagboek van Anne Frank, Hamlet, Hedda Gabler, Die Jakkalsstreke van Scapino, Die Reënmaker, Rashomon, Die Seemeeu, Taraboemdery, Die Verhoor, Die Verminktes, Moleste met die Magistraat, Die Koopman van Venesië.
In co-operation with Aart de Villiers he translated several plays into Afrikaans, e.g. Alkestis, Blithe Spirit entitled Die Vryerige Spook and Scrooge as Ebenezer Pennieknyper.
He became one of the first actors to really make money out of television advertising. Withdrew from public performance in later years and devoted himself to radio work and TV dubbing.
