Nosiphiwo Samente

Nosiphiwo Samente () is a dancer, dance teacher, facilitator and a choreographer.

Biography

Born in Cape Town, she matriculated from Cape Town’s Trafalgar High School in 2005, She then trained with the Jazzart dance company, becoming a professional company member in 2008, remaining with Jazzart until 2011. During this time she comtinuing her studies , completing a BA degree at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2009, with majors in psychology and arts and culture.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Moving to Johannesburg, she then worked with Gregory Maqoma's company (Vuyani Dance Theatre) for two years before joining Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative in 2013.

She has had many opportunities to work with various international choreographers and has undertaken a number of other projects, such as being a facilitator in Outreach Programs, a judge on SABC 1’s Jika Majika dance show and acting in TV series.

Indumba, Cargo: Precious (playing "Saartjie Baartman") , H28, DOLL, Where is Home?.
