He appeared in the Rhodes University Drama Department's productions of Our Town (1968), Mak, the Sheep-Stealer (1969) and Peer Gynt (1970).

Performed in Dr Faustus, Alice's Adventures Underground and Investigations into the Death of a Greek, all at the Arena Theatre ass well as in Die Weerstaanbare Opkoms van Arturo Ui {as Greenwood, 1973) and Woyzeck 1973.
