Grist to the Mill, or The Miser of Verdun is a comic drama in two acts by James Robinson Planché.

Performance history in South Africa

1860: Performed as Grist to the Mill, or The Miser of Verdun in the Harrington Street Theatre, Cape Town, by the Sefton Parry company on 14 February, under the patronage of the Cape Volunteer Corps. The afterpiece is The Rifle and How to Use It (Bridgeman).

1862: Performed by the Sefton Parry company as Grist to the Mill in the New Theatre, Port Elizabeth, as part of the opening performance of the new venue on . Cape Town, on 14 February, under the patronage of the Cape Volunteer Corps. The afterpiece is The Rifle and How to Use It (Bridgeman).
