The New Theatre, Port Elizabeth (1862)
This new venue was initially named the Theatre Royal, and subsequently also bore the names The Barn, the Barn Theatre or The Old Barn.

The New Theatre, Cape Town (1875)
This new venue, built in Burg Street by the Cape Town Institute and Club, was also initially named the Theatre Royal.

The New Theatre, Cape Town (1893)
In 1893 a new theatre was built in Cape Town at the cost of £90,000. Soon after its inauguration as the New Theatre, it became known as the Opera House.
