Chris Galloway (Christopher). (19**-) Actor.

Biography

Youth

Chris grew up in Cape Town.

Training

He studied drama at Webber Douglas School of Dramatic Art in London, where he won the Academy Shakespeare Award.

Career

After his return from London, he worked for PACT. He worked at The Space in the 1970s and in 1977 he, Bill Curry, Dawie Malan and others formed the experimental theatre group Fringe.

Roles over the years include those in The Owl and the Pussycat (Academy Theatre, 1967), The Merry Wives of Windsor (as Fenton, Maynardville, January 1969), Don't Drink the Water, Endgame, Macrune’s Guevara, Medea, Tsafendas (all at the Space Theatre), and a number of plays by Pieter-Dirk Uys, including Black Beauty and the Boss (Pieter-Dirk Uys, Labia Theatre, 1976), Snow White and the Special Branch (Pieter-Dirk Uys, Labia Theatre, 1976), Info Scandals (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1979) Die Van Aardes van Grootoor (1977/78), Appassionata by Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1982.
