Alan has appeared on stage in Murder at the Vicarage, You Never Can Tell, The Diary of Anne Frank, By Order of the Governor (1957), Lady Barker's Last Appearance (1961), Becket (1963), The Big Knife (CAPAB 1965), The Visit (CAPAB 1966), Portuguese Match (as Klaus Breecker, CAPAB 1967), Once Upon a Mattress (Labia Theatre 1967), The Seven Ages (CAPAB 1968), Cape Charade or Kaatje Kekkelbek (CAPAB 1968), The Devil's Disciple (as Chaplain Brudenell, NAPAC 1970), Biography (CAPAB 1971), Hadrian the Seventh (1972-73), The Alchemist (CAPAB 1975), The Bright White Flower (1978), The Government Inspector (CAPAB 1980), The Robe (1981), First Monday in October (CAPAB 1981).
