Performance history in South Africa

It was first performed in South Africa at the Civic Theatre Johannesburg in 1964 by Theatre International. Directed by Christopher Hewett, it starred Emory Bass, Joseph Corby, William Le Messena, Fran Stevens and Jack Harrold. Production and company manager: Mannie Manim.

Presented by PACOFS at the Observatory Theatre in February 1978, directed by John Bernard, musical director and pianist Laurie Potgieter, decor and costume design by Dicky Longhurst. The cast: James Borthwick, William Egan, Elize Cawood, Nico Luwes, Pierre Knoesen, Roelf Laubscher, At Botha, Chris van Niekerk, Marie Pentz, Marikie Basson, Annalise Bosch.
