Two for the Seesaw
Two for the Seesaw (1958), a critically acclaimed two-character play written by William Gibson (1914-2008) [1]. It was Gibson's Broadway debut and it starred Henry Fonda and Anne Bancroft, in her own Broadway debut. It was directed by Arthur Penn.
Filmed in 1962, directed by Robert Wise, with Robert Mitchum and Shirley MacLaine.
Performance history in South Africa
1959: Presented by the Brian Brooke Company at the Brooke Theatre from 29 April starring Heather Lloyd-Jones and Brian Brooke.
1962: Performed by the Cockpit Players at the Hofmeyr Theatre in Cape Town, directed by Leonard Schach, with Fiona Fraser and John Hayter, with decor by Pamela Lewis.
