Speak Magazine (1982-1994) was a highly influential popular culture publication edited by Eve Bertelsen

Not to be confused with the short lived theatre journal, Speak (1977-1979), founded and edited by Rob Amato (1943-2006).

The publication

Founded in 1982 by nine women activists in Johannesburg with the aim of providing a platform for women in communities and trade unions to voice their concerns and share organizing experiences.
