South African History Online (SAHO) is described on its website as "a non-partisan people's history project", which was established in June 2000 "to address the biased way in which the history and cultural heritage of South Africans had been represented in South African educational and cultural institutions" - in the past and even the present.

The website has become one of the largest and most comprehensive online websites on South African history and culture, and is an enormously valuable resource for researchers in theatre, film, media and performance.

An important subsection is "Towards a people’s culture, Art and Resistance under apartheid" (http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/towards-peoples-culture-art-and-resistance-under-apartheid).

For more information on the project and to use the online resource, go to the website at: http://www.sahistory.org.za/
