Daphne Kuhn

Daphne Kuhn (19*-). Actress, director and producer.

Training

She enrolled at the Pretoria University for drama. She had a thorough classical training as well, with a huge amount of discipline, studying old and ancient scripts as well as modern pieces. She had to present her work in both Afrikaans and English. She went further with her studies and completed her BA Honours as well as a Masters in drama.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Founder/manager of the Theatre on the Square in 1994.

As producer she has presented:

2002: The Tale of the Allergist's Wife

2004: The Talented Mr. Ripley,

2011: The Pirates of Penzance

Other productions include: Crashing the Night, The Great Outdoors, Copenhagen, Duet for One, Rose, Is, Ja!, I Do! I Do!.

Awards, etc.

Finalist for the ACT Arts Management Award 2008.

She won a Naledi Award Executive Director's award in 2009.
