Daphne Kuhn (19*-). Actress, director and producer.

Training

She enrolled at the Pretoria University for drama. She had a thorough classical training as well, with a huge amount of discipline, studying old and ancient scripts as well as modern pieces. She had to present her work in both Afrikaans and English. She went further with her studies and completed her BA Honours as well as a Masters in drama.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Founder manager of the Old Mutual Theatre on the Square.

As producer she has done, among others, Crashing the Night, The Great Outdoors, Copenhagen, Duet for One, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Rose, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Is, Ja!, I Do! I Do!, The Pirates of Penzance (2011 and 2012).

Awards, etc.

Finalist for the ACT Arts Management Award 2008.

She won a Naledi Award Executive Director's award in 2009.
