Krismis van Map Jacobs
Krismis van Map Jacobs ("(The) Christmas of Map Jacobs") is a play in Afrikaans by Adam Small.
The original text
Set in the Cape Flats [1] in the seventies, during the forced removals, it tells the story of the gangleader Map Jacobs who comes out of jail on parole, and the impact on the community to which he returns.
First published by Tafelberg Publishers in 1983 and reprinted several times subsequently.

1979: Commissioned by PACOFS under the Nederburg Incentive Scheme ??** and first performed by PACOFS in Bloemfontein in 1979, directed by Sandra Kotzé, with Nico Liebenberg and Antoinette Kellermann.
1980s: Performed by the Cape Flats Players in the late seventies and early eighties and
1982: Performed by PACT, September 1982, in the State Theatre and Alexander Theatre, directed by Louis van Niekerk (assistant director: Johan Blignaut), with Leslie Fong (Map Jacobs), William Abdul (Mr Cavernelis), Donovan Davids (Tommy), James Winkler (Cyril), Arnold Shkaidy (Gus), Anthony Wilson (Willy la Guma), Stephen Eustace (Apostel George), Charles Johnson (Richie), Dot Feldman (Antie Groot-Meisie), Brenda Weimers (Miriam), Lulu Strachan (Maud), Ursula Hero (Blanche) and others.
1986: Performed by the Robertson Drama Group at the Kellerprinz-Drama festival in 1986.
2006: Performed at the Suidoosterfees Directed by André Stolz, with Christo Davids, David Johnson, Sindi Sampson, Leslie Fong, Irvine van der Merwe, Crystal-Donna Roberts [2], Merlin Balie, Revano Michael Singh and Bradley Olivier.
2010: Presented at the Suidoosterfees at Artscape, directed by David Kramer (January).
2012: Performed at schools in the Cape province and Artscape 1-3 August, 2012)**
2015: Performed in May by Artscape, as a co-production with Cape Heart Theatre, directed by André Samuels, with Maurice Page, Duncan Johnson, Charlton George, Marlo Minnaar, Gail Juta, Latasha Storm, Shannon B.
